The Bears looks to parents and caregivers to help run the program.

• Committee or Board work

Parents are encouraged to sit on the board of directors or get involved with a committee.

• Attendance at General Membership meetings

One parent from each family is required to attend all General Membership meetings.

• Clean up nights

One parent from each family is required to help with one classroom clean-up night

• Fundraising

Each family is required to donate at least one item to our yearly silent auction event.

• Parent Jobs

One parent from each family is required to take on a job for the year.

• Volunteer Days

Parents are encouraged (but not required) to sign up for a monthly visit in the classroom to participate in our daily routine for an hour.

The Bears is a non-profit, non-commercial preschool run on a co-operative basis by the parents of the children in the school, known as members. Our members own and are the administrators of the school. Thus we rely on our members’ participation to continue to provide a successful and affordable program for our children.
